The Friday Nite Cruise at Old Town

Hello everyone
this is Gregg checking in from Trophy Row with my weekly report. This
report will be short because we arrived late and I needed to leave
early.
Just as the
cruise ended and I got parked on Trophy Row my cell phone rang and it
was my Jamie on the other end. Her car had broken down and she needed
her daddy. I could not tell my baby no. Thankfully it was only a flat
tire but she had no spare in the car. Kids, what is one to do?
This week
again it looked as though it might rain again. The rain didn't fall
which made for a few smiles at Old Town. As always there were a few cars
that caught my attention and as always I just have to share them with
you. This week again there were three PT Cruisers in attendance. The
only one that appeared before was mine. We had a visiting PT from Ohio
that was customized. This car has a taupe exterior with a matching
interior. It had lake pipes on the side as well as purple neons under
it. It had many chrome accents and looked nice. The other PT was Patriot
Blue and it had a few chrome accents as well as both headlight and
taillight covers. It was very cool and just goes to prove that the PT
Cruiser is a very versatile canvas in which some one can create their
own work of art. The only place you will find two that are identical is
at the new car dealer. I also viewed a very sharp 1989 Ford Mustang LX
hatchback. This car was bathed in a hue of purple blue paint and had a
gray cloth interior. Under the hood was a 5.0 HO V-8 that was fed thru a
supercharger and put that power to the pavement via a five speed manual
transmission. This car had only 49,000 miles. I sure do wish I could
have had this one in my garage. I'm sure that this is one pony that is a
thrill to ride. Next to the pony was a very sharp 1987 Oldsmobile
Cutlass 442. This car is burgundy with silver lower trim and gold strips
and badges. This baby also had T-Tops that let the light shine in on its
burgundy bucket seat interior with floor mounted console and automatic
transmission. This car had a 5.0 under the hood and it also was a
pampered low miles baby with only 46,000 showing on the clock. I also
would have loved to have this one in my garage. To bad my check book is
as rich as my taste for this cars because both were for sale. Across
from the 442 was a neat hot rod that took the form of a 1983 Chevy S-10
pickup. this one had a nice red body that includes a nice body kit and
gray vinyl graphics. Under the hood I found a 350 interceptor small
block V-8 that had more than its fair share of chrome goodies to match
that bright Edelbrook 600 cfm carb. Another car that is a regular at the
Friday Night Cruise that I sure doesn't get as much attention as it
deserves is a 1977 Plymouth Fury Salon four door sedan. This one sports
white paint with a green vinyl top and matching green interior. This car
looks like new but it has its original paint and interior but the clock
shows 98,000 miles. Amazing.
Tonight we had
a total of 87 cruisers that registered for the cruise. We had again four
checker flag winners and all four were present to receive their prize.
The first flag
went to Jason Jacobs with a fine looking 1981 Chevy Monte Carlo coupe.
This car was green inside and out. It runs the streets via a V-6 and an
automatic. It is a sharp car too.
The second
flag went to Bradley Pillay with his 2004 Ford Mustang pony car. This
one was red and it sounded sweet rolling up the brick streets.
The third flag
went to Mike Herrington with a very smart looking 1999 Dodge Neon four
door sedan. This car is a hue of purple blue and has vinyl graphics on
the hood that leave no doubt that this car is a NEON. This one also had
many of the features that grace a lot of the "TUNER" cars but this one
looked exceptionally good. Very tastefully done.
The last flag
went to James Matinick with his 1997 red Toyota Corolla four door sedan
that had a few carbon fibre body parts added and the typical chrome
wheels and low profile tires and lowered springs. Well that concludes
this report.
I have a tire
to change. Anyone want to help? Until next week have fun and cruise
